BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team will travel to Niceville for the Northwest Florida Classic this weekend.

The 20th-ranked Titans head into the tournament 10-1 on the season and have won five straight games. Eastern Florida State College will play Tallahassee Community College on Friday and then will play host Northwest Florida State College on Saturday.

“It is two absolutely loaded teams and extremely talented teams and we are excited about the opportunity,” Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. “It’s going to be an unbelievably opportunity.”

The Titans will play Tallahassee at 6:30 p.m. at Northwest Florida State College and the Eagles come into the contest 8-2 and are coming off a loss to Daytona State College at the JUCO Shootout. Then on Saturday the Titans will play No. 5 ranked Northwest Florida State College at 4:30 p.m. The Raiders are 12-1 heading into this weekend’s tournament.

“It’s a gauntlet, we have already played such a great schedule and to think that our next four games are Tallahassee, Northwest Florida, an undefeated FSCJ and Florida Southwestern. And it doesn’t get easier after that,” Shulman said. “It is exciting, I am excited to go to battle with this team.”

The sophomore duo of Owen Aquino and Matija Zuzic along with freshman Luca Colceag are pacing the Titans as all three are averaging at least 12 points per game. Aquino is averaging 13.6 points and 7.9 rebounds while Zuzic and Colceag are both averaging 12 points.

“I am so proud of these guys, they are so bought into just getting better every day and that has led to a great start which is nice but it is more about the personal journey each of these guys have to get the most of their God-given ability and I know they are getting better every day,” Shulman said. “I am very pleased with where we are and am excited to watch this team grow.”

After Christmas break the Titans will travel to Florida State College at Jacksonville for a game at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
