Eastern Florida State College Men’s Tennis Sweeps Mount St. Mary’s University

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis team swept Mount St. Mary’s University at home on Friday.

The Titans, who are ranked third in the latest ITA NJCAA national poll, won the match 9-0 as all of the singles matches were won in straight sets.

The duo of Hugo Car and Jack Dixon won the No. 1 doubles match, 6-1 as did the No. 2 doubles team of Nick DeVivo and Colin Tavares. The No. 3 doubles team of Tomas Quesada Perez and Alex Achour also picked up a 6-1 win.

Up 3-0, the singles matches were also all won in straight sets as Car won 6-1, 6-1, Dixon won 6-0, 6-2 and DeVivo won 6-1, 6-4. Achour picked up the 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles with Tavares winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5. Konstantin Kukaras won No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0.

The men’s tennis team will play Barry University on the road Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
