BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College softball team won both ends of a doubleheader Saturday to remain unbeaten.

The Titans swept South Florida State College Saturday in the home opener, winning Game 1 11-0 and then Game 2 6-3. Eastern Florida State College is 6-0 this season which is the program’s best start in the past decade.

The Titans got off to a fast start in Game 1, scoring 10 times in the first inning.

Seven straight hitters drove in a run during the inning as the Titans sent 13 hitters to the plate. They would add a run in the fourth inning.

Luci Walters allowed just four hits over five innings, striking out three to pick up her third win of the season. Offensively, Faith Campos and Madison Ford each had two hits.

In Game 2, the Titans scored three times in the first inning and added a run in the second and two more in the third on their way to the sweep.

Jenna Borkey had two hits and scored twice in the win. Destiny Lake tossed 3 1/3 innings of scoreless softball in relief, striking out three.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to the Florida State College at Jacksonville on Wednesday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.

The team will be back at Titan Softball Complex Friday afternoon for a doubleheader against St. John’s River beginning at 2 p.m.
