Eastern Florida State College Women’s Tennis Defeats Mount St. Mary’s University

The Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team defeated Mount St. Mary’s University 6-2 Friday at the Titan Tennis Center. The women’s team came back to win the match, winning five singles matches as all five won in straight sets. Elena Martinez Prado won the No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-2 while Emma Sanchez won at No. 2 singles 7-5, 6-3. Lucia Lucas won a tight first set 7-6(2) and then 6-4 at No. 3 singles. (EFSC image)

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team defeated Mount St. Mary’s University 6-2 Friday at the Titan Tennis Center.

The women’s team came back to win the match, winning five singles matches as all five won in straight sets. Elena Martinez Prado won the No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-2 while Emma Sanchez won at No. 2 singles 7-5, 6-3. Lucia Lucas won a tight first set 7-6(2) and then 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

Maria Gento picked up the win at No. 4 6-3, 6-0 and Thais Mitlmeier won 6-1, 6-0.

The duo of Lucas and Sanchez won the No. 1 doubles 6-4.

Eastern Florida State College will return home on March 15 against Puerto Rico-Mayaguez at 11 a.m.
