BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball defeated No. 2 Gulf Coast State College Friday at the Best Western Grand Classic.

The Titans made a big run late to pull away from the second-ranked Commodores, winning 76-62 at Santa Fe.

Eastern Florida State College got off to a fast start on Friday as the Titans led 17-4 in the first quarter. Gulf Coast got hot late in the quarter and trailed by four after the first quarter.

Gulf Coast took their first lead 34-33 in the final minute before halftime and went into the fourth quarter with a 51-48 lead.

But the Titans would outscore Gulf Coast 28-11 in the final quarter to pull away with the win.

Sophomore Amelia Hassett finished with 20 points and 17 rebounds to go with three steals while teammate Jaidyn Koerdt finished with 18 points. Kristiana Kulackovska had 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists and Ashleigh Battle had 10 points and four assists.

Eastern Florida State College (2-3) will be home for the first time this season on Tuesday, November 28 against Edward Waters JV at 6 p.m. Admission is free to games at Titan Field House.
