Eastern Florida State Women’s Soccer Team Prepares to Face Daytona State for Region 8 Title

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team will face Daytona State College for the Region 8 Championship Saturday at 6 p.m. at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.

The sixth-ranked Titans have split the first two meetings with No. 7 Daytona State College this season and the teams are meeting for the fifth straight season in the Region 8 Tournament.

Daytona State College defeated Polk State College Thursday night 2-1 to advance to the championship game.

Daytona State College is 14-1 this season with the lone loss coming to the Titans. Arianna Kinsley has 12 goals in 15 games this season the duo of Akari Kishida and Wakaba Kogure each have seven goals and seven assists.

Eastern Florida State College comes into the contest 8-3-1 and is 5-0 in the Region 8 Championship.

The Titans come into the contest outscoring opponents 36-7 this season as 11 different players have at least one goal. Morgan Gamin leads the Titans with seven goals while Nancy Almanza has scored five times and assisted on six others. Teammate Laura Di Mascio has six goals this season.

Both goalkeepers have been very good this season, allowing just seven goals apiece which is tied for 17th best in the nation.

The winner of Saturday night’s game will advance to the Southeast District Tournament Nov. 3-4 at the Region 17 champion.
