Eastern Florida State Women’s Soccer to Host Daytona State for Top 5 Matchup Tonight in Melbourne

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team will host Daytona State College in a battle of the top 5 teams in the nation Wednesday night at Orlando Health Stadium.

The Titans come into the Region 8 Conference opener 4-1 and No. 5 in the latest NJCAA poll while Daytona State College is now 7-0 and No. 4 in the poll.

It will be the first meeting of the two teams this season and the conference opener for both teams. The game will also be shown live on WEFS-TV channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish, and 68 on AT&T Uverse.

Eastern Florida State College is led offensively by the sophomore duo of Morgan Gamin and Nancy Almanza. Gamin has scored five goals this season while Almanza has a goal and five assists. But the freshmen have provided a punch offensively as nine of the team’s 22 goals have come from freshmen.

Daytona State College has not allowed a goal this season as freshman Emma Broch Laursen is in the top five in the country in save percentage and goals against. Offensively sophomore Arianna Kinsley has a team-high eight goals while teammate Alejandro Espinosa has six.

The game will kick off at 7 p.m. at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus and admission is free.
