Moms for Liberty was founded in Florida in 2021
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed former Brevard Public Schools board member and co-founder of Moms for Liberty Tina Descovich to the Florida Commission on Ethics on Wednesday.
Descovich was named to the nine-member whose mission is to investigates suspected breaches of public trust by elected and appointed officials, in addition to state employees.
Descovich was elected to the BPS board in 2016 and served as president of the Florida Coalition of School Board Members. She was selected by her peers in 2017 to serve as Vice Chairman and Chairman in 2018. While on the school board she was a member of The Florida Coalition of School Board Members and served as the organization’s president in 2018.
She was defeated by current BPS board member Jeniffer Jenkins in 2020.
Moms for Liberty was founded in Florida in 2021 to fight local COVID school mask mandates and quarantine requirements, and advocate for parental rights.
According to the Moms for Liberty website, the organization is dedicated to fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.
