BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech men’s basketball rising senior Darragh O’Sullivan is representing Ireland at the International Basketball Federation Under-23 3×3 Nations League tournament in Europe this Summer.

FIBA is the governing body for international basketball competitions. Founded in 1932, the organization has brought together over 200 national basketball federations from around the world to create and sponsor several different events for men’s and women’s basketball from the youth level to the professional level.

The FIBA 3×3 Nations League features several national federations competing in designated conferences around the world with the goal of reaching the 3×3 Nations League Final. Each conference has six one-day events during the Summer which include daily pool play and a final.

The Nations League is formatted as a three-on-three, half-court style tournament. Teams earn tour points after each one-day event based on wins, losses, and points scored each day.

The top-ranked team from each conference after the sixth event qualifies for the 3×3 Nations League Final which is scheduled to take place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from September 13-15.

O’Sullivan’s U23 Ireland team has been slotted into the Europe-4 conference along with teams from Poland, Latvia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Croatia.

The first three events for Ireland take place in Kraków, Poland from July 26-28 followed by a three-day stint in Bucharest, Romania from August 11-13.

Ireland picked up its first win of the tournament on day two (July 27) over the Czech Republic, 21-15. O’Sullivan led the team in scoring with nine points and drained the game-winning basket on a technical free throw to secure the victory.

Ireland wraps up play in Kraków on July 28 with two pool play games. They take on Latvia at 8:15 a.m. EDT (2:15 p.m. CEST) and Ukraine at 10:05 a.m. EDT (4:05 CEST). To watch these games and the rest of the FIBA 3×3 Nations League games live, visit the FIBA 3×3 channel on YouTube.

During the 2022-23 season with Florida Tech, O’Sullivan made 25 appearances with four starts and totaled 72 points, 73 rebounds, 46 assists, and 20 steals.
