Florida Tech Panthers Max Martino, Connor Orth Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Connor Orth and Max Martino of Florida Tech men’s swimming have been named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All‐District Team.

The 2023‐24 Academic All‐District Men’s Swimming & Diving Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation’s top scholar‐athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.

The CSC recognizes the nation’s top scholar-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.

Max Martino of Lutz, Florida was a Panthers 200 Free Relay team member that finished third at the 2024 SSC Championships. Posting a 3.73 cumulative GPA so far this season, Martino recorded three top-three finishes in individual competition.

This included a first-place finish against Lynn in the 50 Y Free (21.67), a second-place finish in the 50 Y Free vs Rollins (21.43) and Florida Southern (21.18).

This is Martino’s second year in a row earning CSC All-District Academic All‐District® Honors. He is working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Connor Orth a native of San Jose, California who is pursuing a degree in Marine Biology was named to the CSC Academic All‐District Team for the second year in a row having accumulated a 3.68 cumulative GPA.

Orth finished the season with nine top-three finishes. His top performances over the 2023-24 year in the pool include placing first in both meets against Lynn in the 200 Y Breast and a first-place finish against Florida Southern in the 100 Y Breast (57.70).

As Academic All-District honorees, the men will advance to the CSC Academic All-America Ballot, as first, second, and third-team All-Americans will be announced in late March.
