Florida Tech Panthers Men’s Indoor, Outdoor Track Announces Schedule for Upcoming Season

Jimmy Carnes College Invitational set for Jan. 19

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech men’s indoor and outdoor track head coach Marc Small has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2024 season.

The schedule consists of all five indoor track meets to be held at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville.

The outdoor track season consists of five meets, two hosted by Embry-Riddle, with one meet hosted by the University of Tampa, the University of South Florida, and the University of Central Florida.

“My coaches and I are motivated and thrilled to see how excited our athletes are about this upcoming Track and field season,” Commented Small. “It’s amazing just seeing our athletes working extra hard; eager to get back on the track to represent Florida Tech. We have an amazing support staff in our athletic department, therefore the transition to varsity sports has been seamless for our new roster additions.”

The men’s track team will look to run into the new year in its first indoor meet at the Jimmy Carnes College Invitational on Friday, January 12th with the first race scheduled to begin at 9:00 A.M.

Following the Jimmy Carnes College Invitational will be the RADD Sports Invitational from Friday, January 19th to Saturday, January 20th. Both days of the meet are scheduled to begin at noon.

From Friday, January 26th to Saturday, January 27th the Florida College invitational will take place with the first day of events starting at 2:00 P.M. with the day two of the meet scheduled to kickoff at 10:00 A.M.

The Celebration Pointe Classic will then take place From Friday, February 2nd, to Saturday, February 3rd with both days of the meet starting at 12:00 P.M.

Friday, February 9th will be the final regular season scheduled meet of the indoor track season for Tech at the Florida University Last Chance which is scheduled for 9:00 A.M. start time.

The men’s outdoor track season will open on Saturday, February 17th at 10:00 A.M. at the Tampa Classic at Pepin Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

Saturday, March 2nd will then see the team travel to the Embry-Riddle Track and Field Complex in Daytona Beach, Fla. for the Embry-Riddle First Chance which is scheduled to start at 11:00 A.M.

After a weekend off, the Panthers will travel to The University of South Florida Alumni Invite at the USF Track and Field Stadium in Tampa, Florida, from Friday, March 15th to Saturday, March 16th. Friday’s races will begin at approximately noon with Saturday’s starting race time to be announced.

The UCF Knights Invite will then take place on Friday, March 22nd in Orlando, Florida at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex. The meet is scheduled to start at 11:00 A.M.

Closing out the regular season Tech will return to Embry-Riddle for the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic in Daytona Beach on Friday, March 29th, and Saturday, March 30th with Friday’s races are scheduled to start at 11:00 A.M.
