Florida Tech Panthers Men’s Soccer Celebrate Senior Night with 1-0 Victory Over Rollins Tars

12 graduating seniors were honored for contributions to the soccer program

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A late goal by Ettore Casadei elevated the Panther men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the Rollins Tars on Senior Night surrounded by Panther alumni, Friday at Rick Stottler Field. The Panthers move to 8-1-3 on the year, with a 5-1-1 mark in the SSC.

Before the match, 12 graduating seniors were honored for their contributions to the men’s soccer program: Nokkvi Nokkvason, Mikkel Kvinnesland, Fabio Amaral, Hugo Catherine, Ettore Casadei, Joeran Osland, Kevan Regnier, Aristotelis Dougales, Franco Sala, Antonio Ricciardi, Parker Christensen, and Andrea Pisaneschi.

It was a defensive battle in the first half as both teams struggled to get on the board. Five total shots were taken in the first half, three being on goal.

The Tars were able to deliver a pair of shots on goal, but both were blocked by Iker Bastida. Joeran Osland recorded Tech’s on-target attempt, which was blocked by Rollins’ keeper Max Walker.

The two teams took a 0-0 score into the locker room at the end of the half. In the first 15 minutes of the second half, each team saw a shot blocked by the respective keeper.

The next opportunity came in the 70th minute for the Panthers. Joeran Osland found the feet of Osvaldo Santana who dribbled through two defenders and delivered to Ettore Casadei for the header that blew past Walker.

Rollins’ final attempt came with four minutes to go, but Bastida was able to get a hand on it to push it out of bounds. Joakin Jahnsen received a red card in the 87th minute, putting Tech down a man.

The Panther defense remained strong and was able to hold off the Tars for the final three minutes, securing the win. Bastida recorded four saves in the match, while Walked tallied two.

32 fouls were recorded with nine total cards handed out. Each team posted four corner kicks.
