BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech continues to soar nationally as they are 20th in the LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup standings for Division II after the fall semester.

This is the highest ranking in the history of Florida Tech Athletics, with the previous top mark coming in the fall of 2010 when Tech stood at 48th.

The Directors’ Cup awards points based on each. Institutions finish in the NCAA Championships.

“This remarkable achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication and exceptional performance of our men’s and women’s soccer scholar-athletes, coaches, and staff for their unprecedented Final Four runs,” said Director of Athletics Jamie Joss.

“It reflects our commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics, and we are thrilled to be recognized among the nation’s elite athletic programs.

“This accomplishment is a testament to the collective efforts of our entire university community, and we look forward to building on this success in the winter and spring, as well as years to come.”

The Panthers earned 166 points, led by strong showings by men’s and women’s soccer. With two trips to the National Semifinal, both programs brought home 83 points each. Tech finished just one point behind Lewis (167 total points) and three points behind Catawba (169 total points).

Grand Valley State (365.00 total points) sits in first in Division II. Colorado School of Mines is in second place with 315.00 points, Wingate is in third with 295.50 points, Charleston (WV) is in fourth place with 269.00 points, and West Texas A&M rounds out the top five with 243.50 points.

Florida Tech is the highest Sunshine State Conference team in the rankings, with Tampa joining the Panthers in 30th with 131 points.

The 2023-24 Division II LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup winter standings will begin distribution on March 28.

The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in the NCAA Championships.
