Florida Tech Panthers Women’s Soccer Coaching Staff Earns USC Regional Staff of the Year

Coach Moon has a 34-11-15 overall record in three seasons

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Florida Tech women’s soccer coaching staff has been selected as the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II South Region Coaching Staff of the Year, as announced by the organization on Friday.

Head Coach Ryan Moon is in his third season with Florida Tech and holds a 34-11-15 overall record with a 69.2%-win percentage (7-for-8 in penalty shootouts).

Moon is joined by his assistant coaches Brooke Bradley and Katy Freels. This is the first USC Regional Staff of the Year honors for the women’s soccer program.

Each of the staff receiving Region Staff of the Year honors will be recognized at the College Coaches Awards Ceremony at the United Soccer Coaches Convention on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in Anaheim, Calif.

In addition, the Regional Staff of the Year recipients have been placed on the ballot for United Soccer Coaches’ National Staff of the Year consideration within their respective NCAA divisions. National Staff of the Year will be announced on December 15.

Tech currently holds a 16-2-3 overall record this season and is still in the hunt for a national title.

The Panthers defeated Nova Southeastern, 3-1, on Friday, Dec. 1 to earn the program’s third South Region Championship, and second in three years under Moon. The Panthers will take on Lenoir-Rhyne in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, Dec. 3.

The staff saw 11 players earn All-SSC recognition, including Marem Ndiongue as Offensive Player of the Year and Ayana Aoyagi as Goalkeeper of the Year.

Three Panthers also landed on the D2 CCA All-South Region First Team and Ndiongue was also tabbed South Region Player of the Year.
