Florida Tech Rower Sandro Gardella to Compete for Spot on Peruvian Olympic National Team

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech sophomore Sandro Gardella is scheduled to compete at the Peruvian Olympic Qualification Regatta on January 13-14 in the Lagoon of Medio Mundo, Huacho, with an eye set on earning a spot on Peru’s National Team.

The National Rowing Federation will select the team based on the results of the men’s single event.

Those selected will represent Peru at the Americas Continental Qualification Regatta that will take place in Rio De Janeiro from March 14-17.

The Continental Qualification Regatta provides opportunities for 64 athletes to qualify for the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta through four Regattas: Asia/Oceania, Africa, the Americas, and Europe. The Final Olympic Qualification Regatta will take place in Lucerne, Switzerland, on May 19-21.
