(missouristatebears.com) – A trio of Missouri State football standouts were named Friday as FCS Freshman All-America selections by Phil Steele’s draft scout services.
Earning first-team FCS Freshman All-American honors were offensive lineman Cash Hudson (RFr., Tulsa, Okla.) and cornerback Avery Powell (RFr., East Orange, N.J.), while wide receiver Jmariyae Robinson (RFr., Cocoa, Fla.) was named to the FCS Freshman All-American second team.
Robinson logged 45 receptions for 500 yards and five touchdowns in his first full varsity season.
He ranked 8th in the MVFC in receiving touchdowns, 13th in receptions per game (4.1), and 18th in receiving yards per game (45.5). He had a five-yard rushing touchdown at Kansas (Aug. 31) and logged a season-high eight receptions for 119 yards at Southern Illinois (Sept. 30). He also had eight catches for 97 yards and a TD vs. UNI (Nov. 11) and posted six receptions for 77 yards at Youngstown State (Oct. 28).
A total of 16 from the MVFC represented the league on the organization’s four 2023 FCS Freshman All-America Teams.
The former 3-star receiver had 72 receptions for 1,323 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Cocoa Tigers in 2021.
