Former Cocoa Tiger, University of Colorado Receiver Willie Gaines Enters the NCAA Transfer Portal

Gaines caught two passes for 12 yards in 2023

(247SPORTS.COM) – Willie Gaines plans to be on the move, again, to play out his final season of college eligibility.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound slot receiver played a total of 25 offensive snaps over five games during his one and only season at Colorado, catching two balls for 12 yards. He did not participate on special teams.

BuffStampede.com learned Gaines entered the transfer portal on Tuesday evening, and he later confirmed on social media.

Originally from Cocoa, Fla., Gaines spent time at Toledo, Dodge City Community College and Jackson State prior to his stint in Boulder.

His best collegiate season so far came as a fourth-year sophomore in 2022, when he hauled in 27 passes for 446 yards and five scores at Jackson State.
