BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Enroll now in the Eastern Florida State College Bachelor of Applied Science Healthcare Program.

The Healthcare Management specialization prepares students for management roles in the healthcare field. Graduates can expect to qualify for leadership positions in hospitals, nursing homes, physician practices, public health departments, and imaging and laboratory services.

While enrolled in the program, students will complete coursework relating to current topics in health information systems, decision making, budgeting from the healthcare perspective, organizational behavior and communication, human resources and the emerging implications of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.

This program best aligns for students that hold an A.S. degree in a health-related program similar to the following A.S. degrees offered by Eastern Florida State College: Dental Assisting Technology and Management, Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Emergency Medical Services, Health Information Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nursing RN, Radiography, and Veterinary Technology. An A.A. degree from a regionally accredited institution is also acceptable for admission into this degree.

The admissions process follows the general bachelor’s degree enrollment steps.

Students are accepted into the program for the Spring, Summer and Fall terms which start in January, May and August each year. The Organizational Management common core courses required for this degree can be taken online or on campus, while the five Health Care Management Specialization courses are only offered online.

While the Health Care Management specialization offers a 100% online option, bachelor program courses can fill quickly when registration begins. To finish a program with a designated 100% online option by taking only online courses, students need to register in a timely manner to ensure they have a seat for the online course offerings of their choice.

The same guidance applies to access for face-to-face courses on campus. Work with your advisor as needed when planning and be sure to check the important term dates and student email for current information about registration start dates.

An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree does not meet the minimum eligibility requirement for entry into this program. AAS degree holders who intend to transfer into the BAS program should consult with an academic advisor to review coursework and determine the best transfer options.
