crash happened at 10:21 p.m. Thursday night
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 47-year-old Melbourne man has died after he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run late Thursday night on US-1 near Canaveral Groves.
Authorities say the man died at the scene and the vehicle fled the scene at approximately 10:21 p.m.
Investigators say the pedestrian was in a wheelchair when he was struck in the southbound lane.
According to authorities, they were able to locate a car part from the scene of the crash that is believed to be from crash and they say it from a 2013-2017 Buick Enclave. The vehicle could also be missing a fog lamp molding on the right side.
