Melbourne Man Seriously Injured After Vehicle vs. Electric Scooter Crash Near North Wickham Road and Post Road

Melbourne Police are investigating a vehicle vs. electric scooter crash that happened Thursday afternoon near North Wickham Road and Post Road.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating a vehicle vs. electric scooter crash that happened Thursday afternoon near North Wickham Road and Post Road.

Authorities say that the crash happened around 12:52 p.m. when police responded to a call about a vehicle that just crashed into a electric scooter.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the operator of an electric scooter was found to have sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. The operator of the scooter was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center.

Initial investigation reveals a flatbed tractor trailer truck was attempting to make a right turn onto North Wickham Road from westbound Post Road.

The tractor trailer flatbed truck struck the electric scooter in the crosswalk as the scooter was traveling eastbound on Post Road across North Wickham Road at the north side of the intersection, resulting in the scooter operator being ejected from the scooter.

The crash is still under investigation.

Samuel Lincoln Ebersman, 22, from Melbourne, was the person on the electric scooter who was seriously injured, according to police.
