Melbourne Police Sex Offender Tracking Unit Arrests Matthew Biggs Following Two-Month Investigation

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police Officer Olivia Lubrano with the Sex Offender Tracking Unit completed a two-month investigation which culminated in an arrest warrant for registered Sex Offender Matthew Biggs.

According to law enforcement officials, Biggs failed to report a change in residency and provided false information on his sex offender registry.

Melbourne Police Officer Andrew Walker located Biggs and attempted to contact him about the warrant, and he locked himself in a business for 20 minutes trying to evade officers.

“Eventually, Biggs came out of the business and was taken into custody,” said a Melbourne Police spokesperson.

Biggs was charged with failing to report vacating permanent, and temporary residence within 48 hours, and Sexual Offender providing false registration information.
