BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave that is located several hundred miles to the southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
Experts say conditions are expected to be favorable for gradual development of this system in a few days.
A tropical depression could form late this weekend or early next week while the system moves generally west-northwestward over the tropical Atlantic.
The NHC report states there is a 40-percent chance the system will develop into a tropical depression in the next seven days.
