Marjorie Lee Touchton-Elrod-Berman passed at her home in Titusville, Florida on June 4, 2023. She retired in 1997 as a Human Resources Manager at NASA KSC after a 35 year career in the Federal Government. Her 18 year NASA career was a peak experience for her. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Marjorie Lee Touchton-Elrod-Berman passed at her home in Titusville, Florida on June 4, 2023.

Born October 5th, 1935, she was 87. North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville, Florida was in charge of initial arrangements. There were no memorial ceremonies. Friends and family were/are encouraged to take time to wish Marjorie Godspeed on her journey to the next part of existence, and also to reflect and remember her in their own way.

On October 4th, 2023, Marjorie’s ashes were buried next to her first husband and her son at Franklin Memorial Gardens North, Lavonia, Georgia.

Marjorie is predeceased by her parents, Attorney A.W. “Archie” Touchton (d. 1984) and Ruby Lee Tomlinson-Touchton (d. 1939) both of Echols County Georgia. She is also predeceased by her son Lance Damon Elrod (d. 1991), her brother Garland Archibald Touchton of Texas (d. 2005), her second husband Bernard “Bernie” Berman (d. 2014), and her first husband Marvin Rogers Elrod (d. 2017).

She reconciled with her first husband Marvin Elrod shortly before his death in 2017. She very much enjoyed her second marriage (in 2003 at age 68) to widower Bernard Berman.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter Lynne of Florida and also by 6 adult step-children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren from her marriage to Bernard Berman. Bernard’s children, all of Florida, are Steve, Jerilyn, Brad , Terry , Lynda, and Gayle.

Marjorie graduated from Reinhardt College (now University) in 1955 with an Associate of Arts degree. Her original after-graduation plan was to continue her education in nursing school. She had earlier met Marvin Elrod, and she decided to get married instead.

She retired in 1997 as a Human Resources Manager at NASA KSC after a 35 year career in the Federal Government. She previously worked for the Agriculture Department in Carnesville, Georgia, for the IRS in Atlanta, Georgia and then after her divorce, she moved to Titusville, Florida in 1979 as a H.R. Manager for NASA, where she was known as Marjorie T. Elrod. Her colleagues called her “Marge.” Her 18 year NASA career was a peak experience for her.
