BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Janet Sullenberger Bridges, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 6, 2024, in Titusville, Florida.

She was born on November 27, 1933, in Yukon, PA, to Bill and Leticia Ohler Sullenberger. Janet’s passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her, but her memory will forever be cherished.

Janet grew up in a loving family and was preceded in death by her husband, Harrold Bridges, and her sons Ronald Bridges (Barbara), and Robert Bridges, her sister Carol Bridge (David), and her brother James Sullenberger (Connie). While their absence weighs heavily on our hearts, we find solace in knowing they have been reunited in eternal peace.

Janet’s legacy lives on through her surviving loved ones: her daughter Sheryl Webb (Dave), her daughter Cindy Bridges, her daughter Sandy Bannon, her son Randy Bridges (Cathy), her brother Wayne Sullenberger (Betty), her sister Connie Crossen (Harry), her brother Bill Sullenberger (Carolyn), and her brother Grove Sullenberger (Donna), along with seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of Janet’s spirit and embodies the strength and resilience she exemplified throughout her life.

Janet dedicated her professional life to Aging Matters of Brevard County, FL, where her compassionate nature and tireless efforts improved the lives of countless individuals. Her unwavering commitment to serving others was a testament to her kind heart and selflessness.

Beyond her work, Janet enjoyed various hobbies and interests. She possessed an innate talent for cooking and baking, often delighting her family and friends with mouthwatering creations. Janet also had a passion for sports, particularly baseball and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She could always be found cheering on her favorite teams with enthusiasm and unwavering loyalty.

Janet was a voracious reader, finding solace and knowledge within the pages of countless books. Her thirst for knowledge and her love of learning were evident to all who knew her. She was also known for her remarkable memory and her ability to recall obscure trivia, earning her the title of “trivia buff” among her loved ones.

Most of all she enjoyed visits to Jetty Park to watch the cruise ships sail or return to port, along with playing games and coloring with her beloved grandchildren.
