OBITUARY: Retired Air Force Master Sergeant Brent Braud Passed Away Jan. 22

Brent Braud passed away January 22. He was born in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, the son of Welman and Elsie Braud. Brent is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Faye Newton Braud. He retired from the USAF as Master Sergeant in 1984, and then was a manager in the circuit board industry, working for AQC in Melbourne, Florida until his retirement.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brent Braud passed away January 22. He was born in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, the son of Welman and Elsie Braud. Brent is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Faye Newton Braud.

Brent attended LSU University and was part of the ROTC. After attending LSU, Brent enlisted in the US Air Force in 1964. He retired from the USAF as Master Sergeant in 1984, having been awarded 5 Medals: National Defense Service, Commendation, Good Conduct, Meritorious, Longevity, and Outstanding Unit Award.

He then began his civilian career as a Manager in the circuit board industry, working for AQC in Melbourne, Florida until his retirement.

Brent was an avid bass fisherman, having won over 145 trophies from various Bass tournaments. These trophies are displayed in his home.

One of his sayings was: The best catch of his life was in Las Vegas when he married his wife, Faye on May 1, 1988.

He also loved music, football, traveling and cooking his fabulous Cajun dishes. He and Faye went on many vacations including Bahamas, Cuba, Key West, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman Islands.

Brent leaves behind his son, Trent and two grandchildren Carmen and Johnathan, one sister, Brenda (Glenn) Nickens, brother, Hep Pertuis, and life-long friends: Charlie Rossi, Dick Woolley, and Clement Templet (from Louisiana).

Brent dearly loved Faye’s Newton family: Jenny, Jerry, Mike and Faydene (deceased). He is predeceased by his first wife, Linda Braud.

His ashes will be interred at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
