JOHN PASKO honorably served the Melbourne Police Department initially as a reserve for two years and 23 years fully sworn on March 2, 1992 with courage, honor and valor before retiring on July 28, 2015. As part of his relentless dedication he worked on the DEA task force, he was a successful hostage negotiater and he led a pharmaceutical diversion team.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – John Anthony Pasko, 59, beloved husband of Natasha Lee (Ward) Pasko, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love and support of his family on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Born in Charleston, WV to the late Robert and Tessie (Lewis) Pasko, he leaves his childhood friend and wife, Natasha, his in-laws, Earl and Jackie Ward, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Kristal Ward, 5 nieces and 1 nephew, a sister, Vickie (Mark) Sullivan, colleagues, friends and a community he so proudly served. He was the brother of the late, Robert Pasko, II.

John honorably served the Melbourne Police Department initially as a reserve for 2 years and 23 years fully sworn on March 2, 1992 with courage, honor, and valor before retiring on July 28, 2015. As part of his relentless dedication he worked on the DEA task force, he was a successful hostage negotiator and he led a pharmaceutical diversion team.

John was the founder and CEO of Families of the Shield, a commitment to diligently meet the needs of injured officers, and their family members, as well as assisting other community members in today’s most troubling and difficult times. It was in January 2010, the long-lived vision became a reality and Families of the Shield, Inc., was born.

Whether it was financial or other monetary valued items or emotional support, he was there to help. He cared so much for his family and would always part a conversation with, “Be Safe.”

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be announced at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay. At this time we ask that you refer to the Ammen family website as John’s wife and family to gather in private for the upcoming holidays.
