Shirley and Edward built a house in beautiful Indialantic by the Sea in 1957
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Shirley Pavey Bozeman, a long time resident of Indialantic, Florida, passed peacefully on December 4, 2023 at the age of 91.
She was born in Richmond, Virginia on December 10, 1932. As a young teenager, she and her mother moved to Florida and she resided here for the rest of her life. Shirley met Edward Hugh Bozeman of Minneola, Florida shortly after he returned home from serving in the Army. She was still in high school but they fell in love, eloped to Georgia and got married. They were together for 64 years, until he passed in 2011.
Shirley and Edward built a house in beautiful Indialantic by the Sea in 1957, where they raised their three children. Shirley was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her life centered around home and family.
She taught herself to cook, bake, sew, upholster, manage finances, taught her children to pray and supported her husband through his challenges and changing work schedules. She was affectionate, stubborn, strong willed, loving, energetic and the rock of her family’s foundation.
Shirley shared her husband’s enthusiasm for air boating and through the years she collected many memories of both good and bad adventures she had with him in the swamp. When Edward retired, they purchased an RV and enjoyed their time on the road together traveling the country. But while she enjoyed adventure, she was over-the-top in love with her two granddaughters. Playing and caring for them brought her great joy.
Shirley is survived by her children, Charlotte Scheid (John), Denise Bozeman (Gary Fisher), Michael Bozeman (Ann), and granddaughter’s Jade and KelseyChea.
Funeral services were held at Florida Memorial Gardens on Friday, December 8, 2023. A Memorial and Celebration of Life for family and friends will be in early January 2024.
