William (Bill) Norman Hyler passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023, in Melbourne, Florida, at the age of 94. Born on September 29, 1929, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Bill was a strong and quiet man who showed his love for his family through his actions.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – William (Bill) Norman Hyler passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023, in Melbourne, Florida, at the age of 94. Born on September 29, 1929, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Bill was a strong and quiet man who showed his love for his family through his actions.

He was always there to lend a helping hand whenever they needed it.

Bill is survived by his four children: Kelly Freund (Peter) of Indialantic, FL, Kathleen Hyler James of Norfolk, VA, William N. Hyler, Jr of Norfolk, VA, and Hugh Bryan Hyler (Page) of Indialantic, FL.

He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Cassidy Petersen Conti (Joseph), Alayna Hyler, and Andrew Hyler. His legacy continues with his great-granddaughter, Adalyn Conti. He was also blessed with wonderful nurses and caregivers at Melbourne Terrace, to whom his family are eternally grateful.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Vachon Hyler, his loving parents, Jasper and Eva Hyler, and his long-time companion, Lois Pond.

Bill attended Granby High School and later pursued higher education at William and Mary College in Norfolk and graduated from Elon College in NC. He also served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy for four years, and an additional five years in the Navy Reserve, where he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander.

After his military service, Bill was a successful Certified Financial Analyst working in the banking and financial industry.

A life-long golfer, Bill won the Virginia State Junior Golf Championship in 1948. He continued his passion for golf and played throughout college on the golf team. Additionally, he had a keen interest in investing and closely followed the stock market.

A private family ceremony will be held to honor Bill’s life. Bill will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration.
