ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Orlando City forward Duncan McGuire has been called up to the United States Men’s Olympic National Team for its upcoming training camp in Phoenix, Arizona.

The call-up is the rookie forward’s first recognition on the international stage.

McGuire was selected as the No. 6 overall pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft by the Lions after a decorated career at Creighton University. Since joining Orlando City, McGuire has made an immediate impact with the Club, scoring 11 goals in regular-season action and 13 total across all competitions for the Lions in 21 starts.

The Omaha, Nebraska native most recently scored in City’s 3-2 win over the New England Revolution, tying Damani Ralph for the second-most goals scored by a draft pick in their first MLS season out of college and, with a strike against Nashville SC at the midweek, became just the fifth MLS draft pick to score double-digit goals in the year they were drafted.

The U.S. Men’s Olympic Team will hold camp in Phoenix, Arizona from Oct. 8-17, with international friendlies against Mexico and Japan scheduled for Oct. 11 and Oct. 17 respectively, in preparation for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
