BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Mayor Rob Medina and City Manager Suzanne Sherman recognized Palm Bay Firefighter Paramedic Robert McCarthy and Driver Engineer Angelo Bernard for their exceptional service and dedication to their job and their community.
“Because of their incredible work, both members received the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce Firefighter of the Quarter award,” said Palm Bay Fire Rescue spokesperson.
The Palm Bay Fire Department provides a variety of services to protect the lives and property of the community.
Core Services: Provide proactive and reactive fire-rescue services to the community. Promote a safe community through public education and fire prevention. Maintain a high standard of training and education for our employees. Encourage our employees to serve as role models and participate in the community.
A number of Palm Bay Fire-Rescue employees serve as instructors at Brevard schools (Eastern Florida State College, to name one), and are active in the Community through the IAFF Union Local 2446 as well as through their individual churches, schools, etc.
Palm Bay Fire-Rescue employees actively seek continuing education in order to provide top-notch customer service to the citizens and visitors of Palm Bay.
The Chief’s Office receives many compliments from the public regarding employees who have stopped to change tires, stopped at vehicle crashes while off duty to provide care and concern, and given safety presentations to local organizations on their own time.
Many children have been positively influenced by our fire personnel and have decided to go into firefighting as a career.
