Palm Bay pirates' boys hoops team to play first regional finals in 27 years
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Four Brevard County high school basketball teams remain alive in the FHSAA playoffs as each team is a win away from a final-four appearance.
■ Palm Bay Pirates girls basketball advanced to the regional finals for the fifth straight season after defeating Dunnellon 69-33 on Monday.
The Pirates girl’s team will travel to Orlando to take on Lake Highland Prep on Thursday, with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
■ The Palm Bay Pirates boys team will be playing in the regional finals for the first time in twenty-seven years after defeating 69-61 on Tuesday.
Pirates will look to advance to the final four as they host Villages Charter on Friday with tip-off at 7 p.m.
■ Rockledge Raiders advanced to the regional finals for the first time in three seasons after defeating Terrae 87-77 earlier this week.
Rockledge will travel to Miami to face the top-seeded Norland Vikings on Friday with tip-off at 7 p.m.
■ The Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers basketball team came up with an upset win in their last outing, defeating Santa Fe Catholic 63-60.
Tigers go on the road for the regional finals as they prepare to take on Windermere Prep on Friday with tip-off at 7 p.m.
