BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – An afternoon of Italian baroque music is in store for the audience of the Vivaldi Gloria on March 10 at 3:30 p.m. when Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach continues its 2023-24 season of the popular Dr. Vernon Boushell Concert Series.
The concert at 3400 N. Atlantic Avenue will join the musical talents of the Riverside Chamber Orchestra with the voices of the Riverside Community Chorale for a free afternoon of music by the baroque master.
Antonio Vivaldi wrote at least three settings of the hymn, Gloria in Excelsis Deo, whose words date from the 4th Century and are an integral part of the Mass.
The 12-movement work will feature soprano Beth Green and alto Eliza Dopira, under the direction of respected conductor, Richard Sabino.
Also on the program is the Suite for Strings by composer John Rutter, along with the Glazunov Concerto in E flat major for Saxophone, featuring the band director from Edgewood Jr./Sr: High School, Andy Kropp. Arrive early for the best seating.
Stephen Hoagland is the Executive Producer for the Dr. Vernon Boushell Concert Series at Riverside Presbyterian Church.
