SHERIFF WAYNE IVEY: With Brevard County receiving minimal impact from Hurricane “Idalia” and all of our citizens thankfully being safe, myself and numerous members of our team are now headed to Taylor County to assist with search and recovery efforts.

With Brevard County receiving minimal impact from Hurricane “Idalia” and all of our citizens thankfully being safe, myself and numerous members of our team are now headed to Taylor County to assist with search and recovery efforts.

Earlier this afternoon approximately 15 members of our agency were requested to help fill a search and rescue mission request by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office as their area was significantly impacted from the effects of Hurricane “Idalia.”

After gathering resources, our team is now headed to Taylor County where we will be working with law enforcement and fire/rescue personnel from across the state of Florida to help re-stabilize the area.

I could not be more proud of our team for taking on this task and ask that you keep all of our Deputies, fellow first responders, and the citizens of this area, in your thoughts and prayers!
