Titusville Mayor Dan Diesel Announces Candidacy for Brevard County Commission District 1 Seat

Current Titusville Mayor Dan Diesel, above, has announced his candidacy for the Brevard County Commission District 1 seat. Diesel filed this week to set the table for what is sure to be a scrum for the North Brevard commission seat in a currently four-candidate Republican primary on Aug. 20, including Robert Jordan, Katie Delaney and Dwight Siegler.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Current Titusville Mayor Dan Diesel has announced his candidacy for the Brevard County Commission District 1 seat.

Diesel filed this week to set the table for what is sure to be a scrum for the North Brevard commission seat in a currently four-candidate Republican primary on Aug. 20, also including Robert Jordan, Katie Delaney and Dwight Siegler.

The District 1 seat is wide open as the incumbent commissioner Rita Pritchett has termed out and is running for Brevard County Tax Collector.

Rounding out the commission seat 1 field are Bryan Bobbitt, who is running as a Democrat, and Nathan Slusher, who is running on the libertarian ticket.

Diesel, a longtime teacher and coach at Titusville High School, was elected to the Titusville City Council in 2016 and was elected mayor in 2020.
