BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police officers have arrested Ashley Nicole Wyns, 32, of Titusville, in connection with a shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon at a school bus stop near the intersection of Sisson Road and Little League Lane.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Titusville police officers located Wyns driving her vehicle near the initial incident and she was stopped and taken into custody without incident, according to Titusville Police Department PIO Amy Matthews.
Wyns was charged with a total of six felony counts, including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2 counts), Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in Public, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Discharge of a Firearm at a Designated School Area/Bus Stop and Child Neglect.
“The preliminary investigation revealed Wyns approached the Brevard County School Bus at the designated stop and had a brief verbal interaction with the driver,” said Matthews.
“She then returned to her vehicle, which was parked very close and parallel to the bus, and fired a gunshot in the direction of the stopped school bus with approximately a dozen children on board.”
Matthews said Wyns fled the scene in her vehicle immediately after the incident and there were no reported injuries.
Wyns was booked into the Brevard County Jail and is being held on a $145,000 bond.
This incident remains under investigation.
