ORLANDO, FLORIDA – For the first time since February of 2021, the UCF baseball team has entered the top 25 national rankings.

After winning their third-straight Big 12 Conference series over the weekend by taking two of three from Texas Tech, the Knights debut at No. 25 in the D1Baseball Top 25 Week Seven Poll. The Black and Gold currently hold an 18-7 overall record and a 6-6 Big 12 mark. With Kansas State and Oklahoma dropping out of the poll this week, UCF is the only Big 12 school on this week’s D1Baseball poll.

Over the five major polls, the Knights are ranked as high as 20th by Perfect Game. UCF is currently unranked by Baseball America this week and both the ESPN/USA Today Coaches and NCBWA polls are scheduled to be released later in the day.

UCF was last ranked to open the 2021 season. The Knights were ranked No. 24 by Baseball America in the 2021 preseason poll as well as No. 28 by the NCBWA.

UCF has a busy week on tap, as it will play five games over six days. The Knights will first head to Daytona Beach to face Bethune-Cookman at 6 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Tuesday before returning home to host North Florida on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Black and Gold will then welcome Kansas State to town for a three-game league series Friday to Sunday on John Euliano Park.
