titans host St. Johns River State College next
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College softball team picked up two more road wins on Wednesday in Jacksonville.
The Titans defeated the Florida State College at Jacksonville 11-7 in the first game and then 11-2 in Game 2 to improve to 8-0 on the season.
The start is the program’s best in over a decade.
In Game 1, the Titans and Blue Wave each scored a run in the second and third innings. But EFSC jumped out to a lead with two runs in the fifth inning. Up 4-2, Eastern Florida State College added two more in the top of the sixth inning.
But FSC-Jacksonville would score five times in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a lead. But it was short-lived as the Titans exploded for five runs in the seventh as Brooke Theisen had a two-run double and then scored on McKenzie Jewell’s single. Livie Davis drove in Jewell and then Jenna Borkey scored to make it 11-7.
Davis went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and the RBI while Theisen had three hits, and Madison Ford and Borkey each had two hits.
In Game 2, the Titans scored 10 runs in the first three innings and cruised to an 11-2 win.
Faith Campos had a home run in the game and scored three times while Borkey went 2-for-3 with three RBI and Jewell drove in two runs in the win.
Eastern Florida State College will host St. Johns River State College in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday. Admission to games at Titan Softball Complex is free and the game will be shown live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
