The Viera boys soccer team fell 1-0 to South Broward in double overtime of the FHSAA State Championship in Deland on Saturday.

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The Viera boys soccer team fell 1-0 to South Broward in double overtime of the FHSAA State Championship in Deland on Saturday.

The Hawks finish as Class 6A State Runner-Up for the second time in three seasons.

The No. 4 seed Viera Hawks finished with a 22-3 overall record.

How they got there:

■ The Hawks cruised past Lake Gibson 5-1 in the regional quarterfinals

■ In the regional semifinals Viera defeated Dwyer 4-0

■  Viera clinched a State Semifinals berth after defeating New Smyrna Beach 1-0

■ Hawks clinched their third State Championship after defeating Niceville 2-1
