BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Chief Evander Collier IV administered the police officer Oath of Office to 33-year-old Daniel Lynch, the newest member of the Cocoa Police Department.

Lynch was sworn in Monday morning during a special ceremony at the police department.

He is originally from Wallingford, Connecticut. Lynch served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years in the role of master at arms military police security forces, from 2009-2022.

In 2021, Lynch completed his Equivalency of Training at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, FL, to become certified as a law enforcement officer in the State.

He moved to Florida in 2022 where he has family in Sebastian. Lynch has a younger sister who lives in Houston, Texas. He is engaged to be married and has one son.

Lynch will spend the next several months in training where he will learn the department’s policies and procedures. He will be placed with a field training officer where he will become familiar with operational policies and practices.

Upon successful completion of the field training and evaluation program, he will be assigned to a squad where he will begin his patrol duties.
