BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Chief Collier administered the police officers Oath of Office Monday morning.

Alan Fuller Jr. was sworn in during a special ceremony in the presence of his family, friends and police department personnel.

Fuller was born and raised in Washington DC. He moved to Florida in 2012. He attended the Law Enforcement Academy at Daytona State College and graduated in April, 2023 and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He has prior law enforcement experience in another local jurisdiction. Fuller is married with two children ages 10 and 12. He also coaches basketball and serves as a referee for Brevard County Schools.

Fuller has a heart for, and strong commitment to community engagement, which captured the attention of Titusville Police Chief John Lau, who is credited for Fuller’s decision to become a police officer.

Chief Lau attended the swearing in ceremony to support Officer Fuller’s law enforcement career. Fuller regards Chief Lau as a mentor and friend.

Fuller will spend the next few weeks learning department policies and procedures along with field operations training before being assigned to a squad for full duties as a patrol officer.
