BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Carson Sisler, a rising freshman at Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School was selected Breakfast of Champions Boys’ Golfer of the Year. The Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson sits down and talks with Sisler.
Sisler had an outstanding 8th grade season for the Minutemen. He placed 1st at the Cape Coast Conference Tournament. His 9-hole scoring average for the year was an astounding 34.7. He was also an individual qualifier at the State Tournament.
Sisler was a member of the Cocoa Beach Minutemen’s Cape Coast Conference Championship Team. When asked about the strongest part of his game, Sisler said, “Definitely last season my strongest part was putting.” He continued, “I worked really hard on my putting.”
Sisler is a member of the Florida Junior Golf Tour, sponsored by the USGA, and is also a member of the American Junior Golf Association. He plays in local, state, regional and world U.S. Kids Golf tours and tournaments.
Off the course, Sisler gives back to the community. For his 10 years of volunteering, he is a “Ranking of Knight Commander” for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which is the largest non-government funder in the world dedicated to pediatric cancer research.
Sisler has formed his own fundraising team, called Cocoa Beach Kids. They shave their heads each year in support of kids battling cancer. He also volunteers his time at the Central Brevard Sharing Center.
Excelling in the classroom, as well as on the golf course, he carries an “A” average in school and would love to, one day, play golf professionally and explore a career in the golf arena or sports management.
