Jacobsen, reigning Class 1A State Champion, talks with Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson
WATCH: Elle Jacobsen, a recent graduate of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, has been selected Breakfast of Champions Girls’ Diver of the Year for the second consecutive year. The Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson sat down to talk with Jacobsen about her prep career and what’s next.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Elle Jacobsen, a recent graduate of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, has been selected Breakfast of Champions Girls’ Diver of the Year for the second consecutive year.
The Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson sat down to talk with Jacobsen.
Jacobsen had a banner year in the water. This past season, she placed first at the District 5-1A meet and first at the Region 2 championship meet. She topped off the season by winning the Class 1A State Championship.
When asked about the difference between her junior and senior diving seasons, Jacobsen said she had more difficult dives and was more “consistent.” Jacobsen credits her club coach, Jim Kelly, with much of her improvement. She said Kelly “taught me to be positive and take it one dive at a time.”
Jacobsen ended high school as a four-year varsity athlete, team captain, and pool record holder at Holy Trinity. She was also a state finalist all four years of high school and, in 2021, was the Class 1A State runner-up.
Jacobsen excelled in the classroom and was an AP Scholar with the highest honors every semester. Her GPA was an astounding 4.58!
Jacobsen will continue her education and diving career at Davidson College in Davidson, NC. She will major in Biology and plans to attend Dental School eventually.
