Former intern for Friday Night Locker Room and Space Coast Daily Talks with Steve Wilson

WATCH: Haley Stewart, a former intern for the Friday Night Locker Room and Space Coast Daily, is now an associate producer for the Discovery Channel’s hit TV show, “Naked and Afraid.”  She sat down with Steve Wilson at the Erdman Automotive Studio to talk about her experiences behind the camera.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Haley Stewart continues to be on the fast track to success. I first met Haley when she was a student at Florida State University when she was an intern for the Friday Night Locker Room and Space Coast Daily.

My broadcasting partner Orville Susong and I were looking for someone that could send back reports on the Seminoles football team. Haley, along with her roommate, Sam Martello, made a great team. Sam would be in front of the camera and Haley would be behind the camera. They sent multiple reports to Space Coast Daily on FSU football.

After graduation, Haley moved on, continuing to work behind the camera. She is currently an associate producer for the Discovery Channel’s hit TV show, “Naked and Afraid.”  She recently returned from filming a segment in South Africa, and I had a chance to bring her into the Erdman Automotive Studio for a sit-down interview.

Most of our interview centered around the TV show. If you have not seen “Naked and Afraid,” the object is for two individuals, one male and one female, to team up and traverse through the jungle, desert, or wherever the location may be, over a 21-day period, and reach a designated site. And oh yeah, they are nude!

It is a very interesting concept and a fascinating show. Haley is onsite with the production crew throughout the contestants’ journey. I asked her how two people can participate, with no clothes, no food, and basically live off the land for 21 days.

She told me, “It’s all a mental game. Your body can get through it, and they know that. It’s just that once you are mentally ‘checked out’ it’s all over.”

I asked Haley what she would like to be doing 10 years from now. She told me she would like to continue to be involved in the “film and photography” industry.  She said, “I love traveling; so, if traveling can be incorporated, I would love for that to happen.”

Don’t be surprised if Haley’s dream comes true. She is a driven and talented young lady. The sky is the limit for Haley Stewart. I can’t wait to see where life takes her!
