Simmons is a current Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy and Space Coast Sports Hall of Famer
WATCH: Kaira Simmons, an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy, and member of the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame, helps talk down a man from potentially committing suicide. Simmons and her partner received a Guardian Award for their heroic efforts.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Kaira Simmons, an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy and a member of the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame, along with her partner, Ricardo Reyes, recently received a Guardian Award for their lifesaving efforts when responding to a call in Orlando.
The Rockledge High School graduate, and Reyes, talked a man down from a potential suicide. Simmons is a former track and field standout for the Rockledge Raiders and the University of Mississippi.
Both Simmons and Reyes received a commendation from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. On a social media post, Orange County Sheriff John Mina said he was, “so proud of these deputies.”
