BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – A 21-year-old Cocoa man died late Thursday night after a motorcycle crash in Merritt Island on Courtenay Pkwy. near Catalina Isle Drive by McDonalds.
Authorities say the crash happened when a 2018 Honda CRV was heading west out of a driveway and struck the motorcyclist who was traveling northbound on Courtenay Pkwy. The vehicle was trying to turn south on Courtenay Pkwy. but turned into the direct path of the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was taken to Cape Canaveral Hospital where he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
