BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I was honored to speak at the Indian River Colony Club on Thursday where we hosted a modified version of our Citizens Academy, as we took the show on the road, so they say, and brought everything to them.

The Indian River Colony Club is a community comprised of military officers and their spouses who have always been great partners to us and even hosted several events and fundraisers in their community.

Over 6 sessions, the 50 participants experienced demos from all facets of our agency, from Corrections to Aviation, the Bomb Squad to Animal Services and many more!! They joined in hands on activities, had great question and answer sessions, and of course, they got to meet Junny.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the academy and also a huge thank you to our Citizens Academy Coordinator and Community Outreach Specialist Joe Downs, for his great work in organizing this first ever on-site Citizens Academy.
