In a statement, Brevard Public Schools officials said the threat, however, was not credible, according to law enforcement.

“Detectives spoke with the family and the child who allegedly sent the email,” said a Brevard Public Schools spokesperson. BPS officials said the family was cooperative and had no knowledge of the email.

The district said there will be added security at the elementary school on Friday as a precaution, and school security will collaborate with law enforcement to investigate.

The district posted information about the reported threat on social media platforms.
