Brevard Schools Foundation’s Supply Zone for Teachers is reaching out to the businesses and organizations in our community, inviting them to join hands in the “Light the Lantern Hygiene Drive” for K-12 students in Brevard Public Schools.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Schools Foundation’s Supply Zone for Teachers is reaching out to the businesses and organizations in our community, inviting them to join hands in the “Light the Lantern Hygiene Drive” for K-12 students in Brevard Public Schools.

This heartfelt initiative, in its fourth year, aims to provide essential hygiene supplies to brighten the lives of young learners, ensuring personal hygiene does not present as an obstacle to school attendance and student success.

The “Light the Lantern Hygiene Drive” calls upon local businesses and organizations to become collection points for hygiene product donations.

The culmination of this effort will be on December 7, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a drive-through location for the drop-off hygiene supplies collected.

The drive through drop-off location is the Brevard Public Schools Educational Services Facility, 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera FL 32940.

By participating, businesses and organizations can directly impact the lives of Brevard Public School students facing homelessness and housing insecurity, fostering a sense of community, generosity, and shared responsibility.

“We believe that the strength of the community lies in its ability to come together and support one another, especially during challenging times. By becoming collection points for the “Light the Lantern Hygiene Drive,” businesses and organizations can play pivotal roles in empowering our students and enhancing their educational experience,” said Dr. Cindy Schmitt, Hygiene Drive Co-Lead at Brevard Schools Foundation.

Here’s how your business or organization can get involved:

1. Be a Collection Point: Display a designated collection box at your establishment where employees, customers, and visitors can drop off hygiene production donations.

  1. Spread the Word: Help us raise awareness about the “Light the Lantern Hygiene Drive” by promoting the initiative through your social media channels, newsletters, and internal communications. Encourage your employees and stakeholders to participate and contribute to this worthy cause.
  2. Monetary Donations: If your business or organization prefers to make a monetary contribution, funds will be used to purchase additional hygiene products and support the logistics of the drive.

By actively participating in the “Light the Lantern Hygiene Drive,” businesses and organizations not only demonstrate their commitment to corporate social responsibility but also make a meaningful impact on the lives of local students.

Together, we can create a brighter future for these young learners.

To sign up as a collection point or for more information on how to get involved, please contact Dr. Cindy Schmitt at Schmitt.Cynthia@BrevardSchools.org.
