BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A Vero Beach man died late Sunday night on US-1 in a single vehicle crash near Babcock St. and North Harbor City Blvd. in Melbourne.
Police identified the man 37-year-old Anthony Terrell Patterson.
According to Melbourne Police, the crash happened Sunday at 10:30 p.m. when the driver of the Dodge truck failed to navigate a curve while traveling northbound on North Harbor City Boulevard.
As a result, the vehicle veered off of the roadway and subsequently struck a sign and utility pole located on the east shoulder of the roadway near 400 block of North Harbor City Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle had sustained life-threatening injuries and succumbed to those injuries as a result of the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
