Eastern Florida State Basketball to Host Miami Dade Saturday in Conference Match

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team will be back at home Saturday afternoon for a Citrus Conference game.

The Titans, who are ranked No. 16 in the latest NJCAA Division I national poll, are 11-2 in the conference and 23-4 overall. They will host Miami Dade College who is coming off a win and is 5-7 in conference play.

Sophomore Owen Aquino is coming off his eighth double-double of the season, grabbing a career high 17 rebounds to go with 14 points against Daytona State College.

Teammate Matija Zuzic also recorded a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Aquino is averaging 8.5 rebounds per game is fourth in Region 8 and is hitting 61.7 percent of his shots which is third in the state.

Miami Dade’s John Latimer comes into the contest averaging 17.9 points per game this season while teammate Esteban Lluberes is averaging 12.2 points and is coming off a 17-point performance against St. Petersburg College. Alaaedidine Boutayeb has scored 18 points in each of the past two games and is averaging 11.3 points per game.

Eastern Florida State College won the first matchup this season 80-56 but the Sharks have won two of the past three meetings.
